HISTORICAL CRAFT & TRADITION
HATORI sources its leather from one of the 22 tanneries operating in the Tuscan Leather District affiliated with the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium. The flat braided cord for Odoshi is specially ordered from a shop located in Kaga Prefecture in Japan still producing cord for armor and tea ceremony tools. All materials are of the highest grade.
CARRIED THROUGH TIME
The bags are meant to be used and reused over generations as new life is imbued into them. The brand provides repair, cleaning and cord replacement, and can reconstruct previously purchased bags to feature the halves of the leather segments that were not exposed, allowing bag owners to enjoy seeing the leather age once again. HATORI allows their customers the option of changing the color of the cord.
