Sustainable economic development
Each Cesta basket is handwoven in the hills of rural Rwanda a few hours outside of the capital, Kigali. Their African sourcing partner is a Fair Trade certified B-Corporation and all of the female artisans are paid fair wage for the beautiful handwork they do, setting the price per basket themselves based on the amount of time and energy each style spent weaving.
Sustainable economic development is their supply chain goal and an integral founding principal of their sourcing partners. All baskets are finished by hand in America using carefully sourced materials like Italian Nappa leather and organic cotton canvas.
